'Dinner for the Diamond' to raise money for school athletics, other programs
Have a great dinner, get a chance to win a car, and support local athletics at the 3rd annual "Dinner for the Diamond." The event takes place on Saturday, April 19, at 5:30 p.m. and offers a couple of ways to support local athletics and other high school student organizations.
The dinner takes place in the showroom at Tim's Toyota, 1006 Commerce Dr., Prescott, to raise money for the Prescott High School baseball program. In addition to enjoying dinner served by Jim Cabral from Gabby's Kitchen and listening to music from local band Crossfire, attendees will have the opportunity to bid on items in a silent auction that include four tickets to a Diamondbacks game, which includes going on the field for batting practice; a $1,000 diamond pendant from Raskins Jewelers; eight reserved front-row seats to next month's PHS graduation; a one-hour scenic flight from North-Aire, and more.
The baseball boosters are also taking part with schools countywide in a raffle for a car, donated by Tim's.
When the raffle first started three years ago, the PHS baseball boosters sold $8,000 worth of tickets, and proceeds went toward a scholarship program for graduating seniors plus needs for the field and facilities. Last year, the car raffle was expanded to include all PHS sports and school organizations, including National Honor Society, the Math Club, etc. This year, the car raffle has expanded even further to include all high schools around the quad-city area.
Anyone interested in buying tickets for "Dinner for the Diamond" on April 19 or for the car raffle can call PHS baseball booster Jennifer Fairbairn at 460-3649 or email email@example.com. Tickets are also available at the Badgers' next home baseball game on Saturday, April 12, at 1 p.m.
An eight-person table for "Dinner for the Diamond" is available for $325. Single tickets are available at $35.
