Prescott boys 1st, girls 2nd at first track & field home meet

PREP TRACK & FIELDPrescott boys, Sedona Red Rock girls win PHS multipleWith 133 points, the Prescott High boys' track and field team handily won its home multiple Tuesday against Bradshaw Mountain, Chino Valley, Mayer and Sedona Red Rock at Bill Shepard Field.On the girls' side, Red Rock claimed first place with 115 points, maneuvering past second-place Prescott, which tallied 91 points.Garnering individual wins for the Badgers' boys were David Rupp in the shot put (41 feet, 9 inches) and discus (140' 7"); Perry Reed in the high jump (6') and long jump (20' 2"); Paxton Henry in the triple jump (40'); as well as their 4x100-meter relay team (44.98 seconds).Winners for Bradshaw Mountain's boys included Alex Villagran in the 1600m run (4 minutes and 55.58 seconds), Auggie Espinoza in the 400m dash (52.29), and their 4x400m relay team (3:35.35).First-place honors for Chino Valley's boys went to McKenzie Nez in the 3200m run (11:20.92).Those taking home first-place medals for Red Rock's boys were Andre Davis in the 110m hurdles (15.41), 100m dash (11.35), 200m dash (23.09) and 300m intermediate hurdles (40.64); Travis Okie in the 800m run (2:03.8); Jacob Carter in the pole vault (11'); and their 4x800m relay team (8:40).Posting victories for the Prescott girls were Claren Fraher in the 1600m run (5:44.87) and 800m run (2:39.09) as well as Katie Townsend in the 3200m run (13:14.42).For the Bradshaw Mountain girls, first places went to Courtney Parsell in the 100m dash (13.02) and the 200m dash (28.14), as well as their 4x800m relay team (10:50), 4x100m relay team (52.87) and 4x400m relay team (4:18.26).As for Chino Valley, Maddie Zambrano won the 110m hurdles (16.89) and Kassidy Hampton was first in the long jump (15' 9").Mayer's Lauren Entsler was first in the 300m intermediate hurdles (50.24).Capturing wins for Red Rock were Sammie Cox in the 400m dash (1:03.38); Gabriella Simon in the shot put (35' 2") and discus (116' 9"); Sophia Perry in the high jump (4' 8"); Rachael Preschler in the triple jump (31' 4.5"); and Kruta Bahekta in the pole vault (8').
