Mabel Biernesser, age 91, of Granite Gate Senior Living Community in Prescott, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2014.

Mabel was a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., where she met her late husband George Jr. in high school and spent the next 61 years together. After 30 years of service, from the U.S. Air Force where they spent many years in Europe, and various locations throughout the United States. George and Mabel retired, moved to Maryland where they spent 17 years, later they moved to Florida where they lived for 20 years. Mabel has spent the last five years at Granite Gate in Prescott, where she had many friends and acquaintances.

Mabel is survived by her children, daughters, Barbara Bray (Donald) of Allison Park, Pa., Diane Donald (Larry) of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Kathleen Innes of Savannah, Ga. and Cheri Romley (Ron) of Chino Valley Ariz.; George W. Biernesser III of Spring, Texas, and Col. James R. Biernesser (USAF Ret) (Rose) Omaha, Neb. Mabel has 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, of whom she loved very much.

A Celebration of Life for Mabel will be at Granite Gate, 3850 N. State Route 89, Prescott, Ariz., on Friday, April 11, 2014, between the hours of 9:30 and 11 a.m. Pastor Dale Skurla from Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will preside.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Prescott Hospice 1065 Ruth St. Prescott, AZ 86301. Internment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell Fla.
