Dr. Albert Cecil and Sheila Ann (Smith) Diddams celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at La Posada Hotel in Winslow, Ariz. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013. They were married in Tucson, Ariz. in 1953 at the Coronado Baptist Church; officiated by Dr. Diddams' father.
Sheila is a graduate of the Arizona College of Commerce in Tucson and the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
After Dr. Diddams graduated from Washington University School of medicine in St. Louis, he received his surgical training in Chicago, New York City and Anchorage, Alaska. He spent 21 years in private practice in Gallup, N.M. before activating his commission in the U.S. Army. His final position was as a surgeon at the Prescott VAMC.
Those attending the celebration were their five children with their spouses, 11 of their grandchildren and friends who traveled from Seattle, Mt. View and Brea, Calif., Xenia, Ohio, Boulder, Colo., Tucson, Oklahoma, Texas and Arizona.
The guests enjoyed a weekend of old fashioned fun including competitive matches of bocce ball and a talent night where all guests participated.
