Chino cross country teams run at Four Corners Invite

Chino boys 14th, girls 22nd at Four Corners

The Chino Valley cross country team competed in the Four Corners Invitational in Flagstaff on Saturday.

The boys were led by McKenzie Nez who placed 34th with a time of 17:43. Andy Freitag placed 67th with a time of 18:10, and Tim Rudiger placed 75th with a time of 18:22. Stanley Swiacki was 121st (19:14), Uriel Saldana was 144th (19:44), and Scott Blakley was 174th (20:28).

The boys' team placed 14th out of 30 schools with 414 points.

The girls were led by Cheyanne Penton who placed 66th with a time of 22:14. Rosio Aguiar placed 129th with a time of 24:19, Chloe Vallejo placed 134th with a time of 24:14 and Natalie Malloy placed 136th with a time of 24:18. Micaela Chavez was 178th (28:07), Hannah Sanders was 179th (28:14), and Christina Ballard was 180th (28:19).

The girls' team placed 22nd out of 27 teams with 601 points.

The Cougars compete next at the Bradshaw Invitational on Saturday.
