Four fencers from the local Salle d'Escrime fencing club received medals in the Open and Junior events of the recent Prescott Fall Classic fencing tournament held at Prescott High School over Labor Day weekend.

Andrew Senseney won a silver medal in the Junior Foil event for the 19 and under age group.

Bronze medals went to Ehren Falk in Open Foil, Breonah Semke and Braeden Waples in Junior Foil, and Breonah Semke in Junior Epee.

There were over 100 fencers in the tournament from three states, many of them with national ratings. Due to the large number and strength of fencers in the field many of the medalists either received or increased their national ratings.

Local fencers receiving their first national rating include: Breonah Semke earned her D rating in Epee; Henry Villani and Eric Suarez earned an E rating in Epee; Ehren Falk received his E rating in Foil.

In the youth events, Victoria Riley won gold in 12 and under Foil, and Sterling Thogersen won silver. In the 14 and under age group, local silver medalists include: Breonah Semke who won silver in Epee and Bronze in Foil; Braeden Waples who won silver in Foil; and Charlton Cornelius who won bronze in Foil.
