Jim and Rita Riley celebrate 50 years of marriage
Jim and Rita Riley met in Prescott in 1960. They wed in 1963, and have lived in Prescott and Prescott Valley their entire married life. They have three daughters, Starla Collins of Flagstaff, Angel Skinner of Prescott Valley, and Monica Cook of Prescott Valley, two sons-in law, Mike Collins and Lloyd Cook, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Most of their family still lives in close proximity to the Prescott area. The Rileys have owned Riley Electric, Crosswords Builders and Frontier Upholstery.
The Rileys have spent most of their married life traveling as ministers of the Gospel across America, Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, England, Wales and Africa, but the Prescott area always has been their home. They currently pastor the Junction Christian Fellowship Church in Poland Junction. Jim has made several appearances on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn.
The Rileys celebrated their 50th anniversary in June on a three-day gathering in Williams with all of their family. Grandchildren were home from Alaska, Hawaii, and Montana, which made this a very special event. They are preparing to return soon to Africa for another mission trip.
