YAVAPAI BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS: CHILD OF THE WEEK
There are currently 214 children waiting to be matched with a "Big" in Yavapai County. Here is the story of one of these kids.
Meet Brodin. He is an active and polite kindergartner who lives with his mother and sister in Prescott Valley. Brodin does not currently have contact with his father and is in need of a positive male role model.
Brodin is a very bright kid who is good at math, although his favorite subject is English. He likes hanging out with his friends after school and doing things like playing the drums, video games, football and Legos. Brodin said he is considering going to college and that he is a hard worker.
Brodin's mother believes that he would greatly benefit from having a Big Brother or Big Family Match. He is excited at the thought of having a Big Brother and said that he wants someone "huge" who will play games with him.
You don't have to change your life to change the life of a child like Brodin. Just a few hours a couple of times a month is enough to make a difference as a Big Brother or Big Sister. You can also be a Big as a Couple Match or with your whole family as a Family Match. Research shows that kids matched with a "Big" are, on average, 40 percent less likely to get arrested, compared to all other kids their age.
