Libyan prime minister Ali Zidan was kidnapped and held for ransom by terrorists last week. His release was finally arranged. If our president was kidnapped by terrorists for ransom money, our government would have to ask if they would accept a post-dated check.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians stars Bruce and Kristi Jenner announced they will end their 22-year marriage. It's family-shattering. Bruce Jenner just asked his surgeon to give him a brave face, and he's suing for whatever is the opposite of custody.

The Wall Street Journal released a poll revealing American fury at Washington over the shutdown. There's hope. Ten percent blame President Obama, 10 percent blame Congress, while 80 percent want to ask Queen Elizabeth to forgive us and take us back.

Machete Kills opened with Charlie Sheen as the U.S. president and Mel Gibson the evil arms dealer who wants to overthrow the U.S. government. It was written before the shutdown changed public attitudes. Instead of wanting to see the President of the U.S. get high with hookers, movie audiences are cheering for Mel to overthrow the U.S. government.

Arizona Congresswoman Brenda Barton reflected the partisan anger on Capitol Hill Friday when she compared President Obama to Adolf Hitler. That's over the top. Let's be honest, if President Obama was really like Hitler he would have invaded Arizona by now.

President Obama placed a call to House Speaker John Boehner Friday and they made reported progress. It's embarrassing. In the last 40 years there have been 17 U.S. government shutdowns, the longest was the four years that Jimmy Carter was president.

The White House met with both parties Friday to try to solve the shutdown. They're arguing for two different Americas. The Democrats say health care is everyone's right and the Republicans say that Miley Cyrus was Hannah Montana when Bush was president.

Miley Cyrus sang a lewd impression of GOP conservative Michelle Bachmann on NBC while plugging her single, Wrecking Ball. She's on a roll. Miley Cyrus made the cover of Rolling Stone this month, which makes it it official, she's a domestic terrorist.
