Obituary: Vivian Bell

On May 13, 2013, Vivian (Bender) (McPherson) Bell left us to pass beyond the veil. Meeting her at the gates of heaven were her father, Charles Richard, and mother, Elizabeth Bender, who preceded her in death.

Vivian came to this earth on Sept. 24, 1945, in Prescott, Ariz. Spending most of her life in Prescott, she married Samie Lee McPherson and raised three sons, Samie Lee, Charles Richard (Richard) and Louis Earl (Louie).

She attended school in Prescott. She became a certified emergency medical technician while working at Villa Vita Nursing Home. She later retired from the Prescott V.A. Canteen. During this time, she married Mackie Bell, whom she tenderly cared for, and who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her three sons, Samie (Kim) of Great Falls, Mont., Richard (Becci) of Rio Rico, Ariz., and Louie (Amy) of Chandler, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Kent) Seaman, Stephanie McPherson of Stoughton, Wis., Tanner McPherson-Carey of Bozeman, Mont., Rebecca Kinnett of Villa Grove, Ill., Tariel and Teagan McPherson of Phoenix, Ariz.; Amanda Kimes of Tempe, Ariz., and Patrick and Riley McPherson of Chandler, Ariz.; and one great-grandchild, Audrie Rae. She also is survived by her sister Garnette Coe of Prescott and brother Charles James Bender of Fircrest, Wash., and five nephews and two nieces.

Vivian would want to be remembered by friends and relatives by them loving their families, being a good neighbor, and helping those in need rather than by gifts or flowers.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. June 1, 2013, at the Prescott V.A. Post chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions made to the Disabled American Veterans, the Salvation Army or Hospice Family Care of Prescott.

Arrangements by David's Desert Chapel.
