122 stops, 9 arrests made during holiday DUI patrol

Local law enforcement officers arrested seven people for DUI, one for DUI drugs, one for underage DUI and made 122 traffic stops during the Tri-City DUI task force's Memorial Day weekend detail, Prescott Valley Police Sgt. Brandon Bonney said. The average breath alcohol content was 0.06, Bonney added.

On Saturday evening, Prescott Valley, Prescott and Chino Valley police officers, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputies and Arizona Department of Public Safety officers cited 63 people for various traffic and safety violations, made an arrest on a warrant, and had a K-9 alert and arrested a person for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

The officers also cited nine people for seatbelt violations and issued 24 warnings, Volunteers from YCSO, PVPD and Chino also helped with the DUI detail.

The DUI detail was made possible by funding from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.

"Voluntary compliance with the law and responsible decision-making on the part of drivers on our roadways are critical to reducing impaired driving," Bonney said. "We are all responsible for the safety of our community. Don't drink and drive."
