In Loving Memory of Guadalupe "Lu" M. Murray

Guadalupe "Lu" M. Murray of Prescott Valley, Ariz., passed away on May 18, 2013, after a courageous battle with interstitial lung disease. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Jesse and Lupe Morales on Dec. 14, 1940.

Lu was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Alex and Edward, sister Mary, and daughter Selena. She will be missed by brothers Jesse and Hugo Morales of Fullerton, Calif., Al Morales of Georgetown, Texas, Louie Morales of Norwalk, Calif., and Hector Morales of Los Angeles, Calif.; and sisters Teresa Franks of Union, Wash., Margie Alcala of Whittier, Calif., and Alice Ramirez of Pico Rivera, Calif.

Lu raised her family in Southern California while employed as a skilled worker at Hughes Aircraft. Lu switched careers to the lending industry in the late 1980s and later relocated to Arizona. In February 1985, Lu and her soul-mate Steve Murray were married, built memories together for 28 years, and will be reunited when Steve's earthly journey is complete.

Lu is survived by daughters Regina Merrow and Stephanie Villa of Buena Park, Calif.; sons Thomas Trujillo of Chino Hills, Calif., Joseph Trujillo of Westminster, Calif.; and stepdaughters Traci Northey and Terri Uzzell of Salamander Bay, Australia. Lu's large circle of love also included 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial celebration of Lu's life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1001 Ruth St., Prescott, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Lu's name to the American Lung Association.
