A human-caused wildfire, above, ignited on a boulder-strewn hill south of StoneRidge near Prescott Valley late Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters held it to about two acres.

The cause is unknown, but 911 callers reported seeing boys with fireworks.

Central Yavapai, Prescott, Prescott National Forest and Arizona Forestry firefighters responded to that blaze.

In Prescott, firefighters quickly put out a 1/10-acre wildland fire in the creek area near Prescott Mile High Middle School on Tuesday afternoon.

At 4:05 p.m., Prescott crews answered a call about a fire near the school and found the wildland fire in the creek area near the football field snack bar, Prescott Fire spokesman Wade Ward said.

Prescott Fire investigators and the Prescott Police Department are looking into the cause of the fire. It was the second in the downtown Granite Creek area in two days.
