Yavapai Silent Witness to continue 'Catch 22' in June
Yavapai Silent Witness will start another round of its Catch 22 program that targets high-profile felons on June 1, Program Director Steve Skurja said.
Catch 22 began in May 1997.
"Silent Witness was looking for a better way to involve the community in criminal apprehension and decided to start a program whereas they would pick 22 high-profile felons with warrants from throughout Yavapai County," Skurja said.
One of the 22 criminals is featured in print and broadcast media each day until all 22 are featured.
Each felon is worth at least a $500 reward, if the caller's information leads to their arrest. Skurja said.
"To date Catch 22 is responsible for apprehending 65 felons and paying $32,500 in cash rewards," Skurja said.
Callers never have to give their names but they must call Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232 in order to be eligible for the cash reward.
