Local authors to sign books, discuss writing at Hastings

Local writers Stephanie Jefferson, Susan Lanning and Gene Twaronite will appear at a "Meet the Author" event at Hastings Entertainment, 940 Willow Creek Road in Prescott, today, May 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. In addition to signing their books, they will also be on hand to answer questions about writing.

Jefferson (stephaniejefferson.com) has released her second book in the Princess Kandake novel series. Her passions are writing tales of action and adventure for the tween audience.

Lanning (susanlanning.com) writes suspense novels. Her most recent is a historical suspense, "Imperfect Union." She has another novel coming out this summer. This fall she will be teaching an OLLI class on writing a novel.

Twaronite is the author of the just-published short story collection "Dragon Daily News: Stories of Imagination for Children of All Ages." He is also the author of the humorous middle-grade novel, "The Family That Wasn't," and the young adult novel "My Vacation in Hell." You can read more of his absurd stories and essays on his blog at thetwaronitezone.com.
