Local authors to sign books, discuss writing at Hastings

Local writers Stephanie Jefferson, Susan Lanning and Gene Twaronite will appear at a "Meet the Author" event at Hastings Entertainment, 940 Willow Creek Road in Prescott, today, May 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. In addition to signing their books, they will also be on hand to answer questions about writing.

Jefferson ( has released her second book in the Princess Kandake novel series. Her passions are writing tales of action and adventure for the tween audience.

Lanning ( writes suspense novels. Her most recent is a historical suspense, "Imperfect Union." She has another novel coming out this summer. This fall she will be teaching an OLLI class on writing a novel.

Twaronite is the author of the just-published short story collection "Dragon Daily News: Stories of Imagination for Children of All Ages." He is also the author of the humorous middle-grade novel, "The Family That Wasn't," and the young adult novel "My Vacation in Hell." You can read more of his absurd stories and essays on his blog at
