Violinist to perform old-world fiddle music at Prescott Valley Public Library Friday

International violinist Marie Rhines will perform 7 p.m. Friday, May 10, in the auditorium of the Prescott Valley Public Library with traditional and original fiddle music from the U.S. and Europe. The Friends of the PV Library are sponsoring the event.

Rhines, a classically trained violinist and composer, has mastered a variety of violin and fiddle techniques, encompassing Scottish reels and pipe tunes, Shetland fiddle tunes, Irish jigs and reels, and old-time New England and Appalachian Bluegrass. She lives in Prescott Valley, where she is exploring the history and culture of the American cowboy.

Ticket prices are $10 or $5 in advance through the Friends of the Library bookstore inside the library, and $5 for Friends members. Annual membership to the Friends of the Prescott Valley Public Library is $5.
