How to avoid identity theft will be the focus of the next Lifetree Café 6 p.m. Sunday in the Douglas Room of Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley. Saving Grace Lutheran Church in Chino Valley will celebrate Lent with midweek services on March 20 with a soup supper at 6 p.m. followed by Lenten service at 6:30 p.m. Maundy Thursday is at 6:30 p.m. on March 28 and Good Friday services are 6:30 p.m. March 29.

Lenten services at Trinity Lutheran Church are every Wednesday through March 20 at 4:30 p.m. for Liturgical service and 6:30 p.m. for Family Praise service, with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. A love offering accepted. Pastor Tim Blau's Lenten theme is Jesus' 7 "I Am" statements. Holy Week services will begin March 28 with Maundy Thursday. One service will be at 6 p.m. and will include foot-washing (optional). Good Friday services will be at 4:30 p.m. for Liturgical service and 6:30 p.m. for Family Praise service. Trinity's "In His Light" group will perform also. This service will conclude with everyone

leaving the sanctuary in silence. Trinity is located at 3950 N. Valorie Drive in Prescott Valley.

The Active Adults group is having a St. Patrick's Day potluck at noon on Thursday, March 21, at First Southern Baptist Church in Prescott Valley. An Irish child movie star from the past and from our own congregation will have a surprise presentation. Plan on a fun-filled event.

All are welcome to participate in the annual Kosher Pesach Seder of Beit Torah Jewish Congregation on the first night of Passover, Monday, March 25, at 6 p.m. at the Stepping Stones meeting room #4, 6719 E. 2nd St., Prescott Valley. The Prescott Valley United Methodist Church, 8944 E. Sommer Drive in Prescott Valley, offers Lenten studies classes every Wednesday at 4 p.m. until March 27. Anyone wanting to learn more about the season or the church can call 772-6366.

Women of Wisdom, an interdenominational Christian fellowship of Bible teaching and Bible studies for women of all ages and backgrounds, is now taking registrations for the spring 2013 session. The new session begins on Wednesday, April 3, and meets for eight weeks, until May 22, Wednesday mornings from 8:15 to 11:15 a.m. at American Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott. Full and partial scholarships for class materials are available, and free childcare is always provided.

The program for WOW includes coffee time, praise and worship music, prayer, a first-hour Bible teaching and your choice of a second-hour Bible or "Just for Fun" class. The Quad-Cities School of Ministry biblical counseling is Sunday afternoons from 4 to 6 p.m., and pneumatology, the study of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit, is every Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Classes will meet in the high school room of Calvary Chapel, 2313 E. Aglow International invites men, women and teens to attend "Identity: Key to Transformation" April 12 -13 at the Best Western Payson Inn. Allison Bown will speak at three sessions. John Lasater is the new pastor at Prescott Church of Christ. He and his wife Gina moved here from Texas. They have five children and seven grandchildren. John was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He has been preaching for almost 34 years.

Puerta Abierta, the new Spanish-language ministry of Open Door Baptist Church, meets at 2:30 p.m. Sundays in the church auditorium. All members of the Spanish-speaking community are invited to sing hymns and hear a message from the Word of God by Pastor Tom Petro, with translation into Spanish by Jeyson Ramos. Divine Heart Ministries has 1 p.m. Sunday spiritual gatherings at the Haas Chapel at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, located at 3700 Willow Creek Road in Prescott. Gatherings run approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Sunday gatherings also include prayer and meditation; a moment for divine connection and a break from the stress of life, including gemstone crystal bowls.

The Lutheran Hour has been around since the Great Depression in the 1930s. What you will get is solid Lutheran teaching, interesting anecdotes, a good speaker and, sometimes, good traditional music. It can be heard on radio station KYCA 1490 AM, starting at 7:05 a.m. every Sunday and is sponsored by Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Prescott.
