Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies are asking the public's help to find a man who on Tuesday robbed the Circle K store in Mayer.
Deputies responded just before midnight on June 18 to the Circle K on Central Avenue in Mayer, where the clerk told them a man entered the store about 11:40 p.m., said Yavapai County Sheriff's spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn. Within minutes, the man pulled a bandana over his face, approached the clerk, and demanded money from the register drawer. The suspect threatened the clerk with physical harm if he did not cooperate.
The clerk opened the register drawer and allowed the suspect to grab currency from the cash tray, D'Evelyn said. He then ordered the clerk to back of the store and forced him inside a walk-in freezer. The suspect exited the store and was last seen running north. An unknown amount of currency was stolen.
The subject is described as 5'06" to 5'07", approximately 150 lbs., 18-24 years old, with short dark brown hair, clean shaven, wearing a black shirt, black ball cap, black bandana, black gloves and flip flop type shoes. This subject also has a tattoo which looks like a series of letters along the back side of his left forearm.
The theft is the second time this year the Circle K has been robbed. Silent Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who robbed the same store on Feb. 20.
