Art listings: Week of June 14

Arts Prescott Cooperative Gallery, 134 S. Montezuma, 776-7717. The work of guest artist Glenn Hinz's traditional Sonoran and Southwest fine-art, copper relief sculpture that is closely associated with the Sonoran culture is on exhibit. An artist's reception will be June 28 during the 4th Friday Art Walk. The gallery's Member Art Show runs until June 25.

Beastro, 117 N. McCormick St. 227-2796. Artisan jewelry, art and more are available for purchase. Proceeds help animals in need.

Bronzesmith Fine Art Gallery and Foundry, 7331 E. 2nd St., Prescott Valley, 772-2378. Gallery hours are 9 am. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Foundry tours are available by appointment at 11 a.m. on Thursdays for $10 per person.

The Gallery at the Prescott Center for the Arts, 208 Marina St., 445-3286, "Child's Play," featuring works of artists drawing from their memories to create pastimes enjoyed as a child runs until June 22. The "Company of Animals" opens June 24 and runs until Aug. 17, with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on June 28. This exhibit displays artists' interpretations of animals wild, domestic and imaginary, drawing from animals the artists interact with daily, those they encountered in captivity or those they merely imagined. The exhibit presents 2-D and 3-D mediums, including, but not limited to, photography, collage, oil and acrylics, sculpture, and fiber and book art.

Krieger-Marcusen Gallery, 110 S. Montezuma, Suite F, Hotel St. Michael's Alley, 778-4900. Featuring clay, paintings, jewelry, wood by local artists Heath Krieger, Cathy Krieger and Richard Marcusen. New works by Steve Smith (wood) and plein air oil paintings by Bill Anton.

Mountain Artists Guild & Gallery, 228 N. Alarcon St., 776-4009. "New Beginnings," featuring more than 40 artists, runs in the main gallery through June 28. "Prescott Masters Present," new works by local and nationally acclaimed artists, including Betty Carr, David Harlan, Pat Lambrecht-Hould, Douglas Miley, Doug Oliver, Dorothy Ray and G. Eric Slayton, runs through November.

Mountain Spirit Gallery, 140 S. Montezuma St. 445-2886. Oil paintings, bronze sculpture and photography.

Phippen Museum of Western Art, 4701 Highway 89 North, 778-1385, "Early West Storyteller," a visual journey through the American West, runs until July 7.

Prescott College Art Gallery at Sam Hill Warehouse, 232 N. Granite St., 350-2341.

Prescott Valley Art Guild, 3386 N. Windsong Drive, 775-4989. The guild's exhibit at Good Samaritan Center, 3380 N. Windsong Drive, features artists Leland Morse, Marilyn Thompson, Yvonne Griffin and Dell Arnold whose works include oils, watercolor and photography. This exhibit runs until mid-September. The guild is also displaying members' works until mid-September at Windsong Villas, 3386 N. Windsong Drive, and at the Prickly Pear Café, corner of Robert Road and Florentine.

The Smoki Museum of American Indian Art and Culture, 147 N. Arizona Ave., 445-1230. "Seasons of the Yei Bicheii," featuring Diné painters Al Bahe and Virgil Nez, showing their striking and highly collectible art of traditional images, will be on exhibit until Aug. 31.

Straight Arrow Studios and Gallery, 1724 Willow Creek Road, 925-4970. Works by Everett Davidson.

'Tis Art Center and Gallery, 105 S. Cortez St., 775-0223, A new selection of contemporary works runs until June 25.

Van Gogh's Ear, 156 S. Montezuma St., 776-1080. Contemporary art work by 70 artists on display.
