Amalia Lopez Lopez, 73, entered into eternal peace May 29, 2013, at her home in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Amalia was born Sept. 22, 1939, in El Rancho Pamaseo/Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico, a daughter of the late Godeleva and Socorro Lopez.
In 1955 Amalia married the love of her life, Raul Lopez. They were married for 58 wonderful years.
In 1963 Raul and Amalia brought their young family to the United States where they settled in the small town of Bagdad, Ariz., for 35 years. For the last 15 years, Amalia and Raul have enjoyed living in Prescott Valley.
Family and friends were Amalia's passion and delight. She loved spending time with her 13 great-grandchildren and 16 grandchildren.
Amalia was preceded in death by her sister Beatriz and brother Juvencio.
She is survived by her husband Raul, her children Josefina, Lela, Rosa, Juve, Rigo and Raul; 13 great-grandchildren and 16 grandchildren; her brothers David, Moises and Ramiro; her sisters Trinidad, Josefina and Modesta.
Visitation will at St Germaine Catholic Church on Tuesday June 4th from 5-6 pm with rosary from 6-7pm. The Mass will be Wednesday from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Sunrise Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
