Obituary: M. Robert Anderson

M. Robert "Bob" Anderson, 85, of Prescott, Ariz., died unexpectedly Sunday July 21, 2013.

Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeanne; four sons, Scott (Anne) of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Steve (Patty) of Des Moines, Iowa, Stan (Jeanice) of Van Meter, Iowa, and Stuart (Beth) of Homewood, Ill.; and six grandchildren, Erika, Erin, Ian, Cole, Maxim and Irina.

Bob was born in Kirksville, Mo., on June 15, 1928, to Dr. M.R. and Mary Anderson. He graduated from Iowa State University and the University of Northern Colorado. He taught industrial arts and drafting at high school and collegiate levels before retiring to Prescott in 1992.

Bob was active in the local woodworkers' club. He also volunteered at the Phippen Museum, and he was passionate about steam railroading.

A memorial service for Bob will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Prescott. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the charity of your choice.
