Obituary: Norman Thomas McKeown

Norman Thomas McKeown, 64, died at home in Dewey, Ariz., on July 23, 2013.

He was born Nov. 18, 1948, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Norman G. and Isabel M. McKeown. Norm was a graduate of Arizona State University. He taught at Bradshaw Mountain High School in Prescott Valley, Ariz., for almost 30 years. He was a free thinker and taught his students to think for themselves and instructed them in "life lessons." He enjoyed teaching, raising his sons, fishing, writing and playing poker.

He is survived by his father, Norman G. Mc-Keown (wife Marilyn); sons Garrett and Logan (wife Mina); with grandchildren Anela and Melia; sister Sue Anne Potter (husband Randy); two grandchildren; and his ex-wife and good friend, Robin. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Isabel and his brother and best friend, John A. McKeown.

He will be missed by his friends and poker buddies, many students and loving family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the 100 Club for the Prescott Fallen 19.
