Obituary: Douglas R. Mick

Douglas R. Mick died July 21, 2013, in Prescott, Ariz. He was born Nov. 26, 1950, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Bernard J. and Patricia C. (Korn) Mick.

Before a tragic accident seven years ago, Doug loved visiting family and friends and helping them with home projects. He enjoyed hiking and bicycling around town. He took pride in helping his students in his special education classes in Casa Grande and Coolidge. He was proud of his grandchildren.

The family and Doug appreciate the excellent care by doctors, nurses and caregivers in the last seven years.

Doug is survived by his brothers, James (Fran) of Prescott, Father Lawrence of Dayton, Ohio, and Daniel (Mary) of Hollywood, Calif.; and his sisters, Rosemary (Bill) Brant of Mesa, Ariz., and Teresa (Al) Rogier of Batesville, Ind. Doug is also survived by son Allen Ray (Carrieann) of Coolidge, Ariz.; grandchildren Jacob, Johnathan, Michael and Katelyn; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith "Sugar" in 1991.

A Rosary/Vigil service will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury, with a Funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m.
