Obituary: Edwin Ralph Braden

Edwin Ralph Braden passed away peacefully in Prescott, Ariz., on Jan. 17, 2013. Born in Santa Monica, Calif., on July 28, 1926, he served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He was a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Engineering for which he remained a "Trojan fan forever."

His 30-year career as an aerospace engineer for the federal government included the Apollo 8, Sky Lab and Space Shuttle programs.

Ed had a passion for travel, his train collection and spending time with his family and dear friends.

He is survived by his loving wife and "Buddy" Paddie; his daughters JoAnn (Ken), Lisa (Allan); and his sons Kevin (Shannon) and Greg (Christine). Ed was grandpa and Opa to nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He is and was loved by all. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Special thanks to the amazing caregivers at the Veterans Hospice Center.
