Obituary: Alvina May Schmidt
Alvina May Schmidt died peacefully on Dec. 16, 2012, with her family by her side. Alvina was born Feb. 5, 1929, in Copeland, Kan.
She married Harry in Wichita, Kan. on April 9, 1955. In 1979, they moved to Prescott, Ariz. where Alvina and Harry owned and operated Sparkletts Bottled Waters for 28 years from 1979 to 2007. They retired to Jacksonville, Ore. in 2011.
After moving to Arizona, they opened their home and had over 400 foster kids come through their door from 1979 to 1985.
Alvina was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by her sister Jane Schmidt of Syracuse, Kan.; her husband Harry; daughter Kathy Davis of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sons, Rusty (Cindy) of Jacksonville, Ore. and Rick (Therese) of Prescott Valley, Ariz.
She took in Teri Cameron (Don) of Peoria, Ariz., as one of her own. Alivina had 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 26, 2013, at Springs Church, 10051 S. 2nd St. in Mayer, Ariz.
