Shot fired into Black Canyon City bank

BLACK CANYON CITY - A shot fired into the Bank of the West building has the Sheriff's office and FBI searching for suspects, a YCSO spokesman said.

It happened Jan. 4 at about 4:50 p.m., said Sheriff's spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn, at the Bank of the West, 34301 Old Black Canyon Highway.

One round was fired through a window, and a phone call received just prior to the incident is connected to the shooting, according to D'Evelyn.

No one was injured, and authorities are not sure of a motive, D'Evelyn said.

YCSO detectives and FBI investigators are working the case. They do not believe the incident is related to a robbery at a Tolleson Bank of the West the following day, D'Evelyn said.

He asked anyone with information to call YCSO at 928-771-3260 or to make an anonymous call to Yavapai Silent Witness at 800-932-3232.
