Obituary: Linda Lee Ryan
Linda Lee Ryan, 60, of Prescott, Ariz., peacefully passed away with family by her side on Dec. 12, 2012. She was born in Phoenix, Ariz. July 25, 1952, to Richard and Mary Linda Fuenning.
Linda fought a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis and is survived by her son Joshua Dell (Anna); Dan Ryan, life partner for many years; Jim Dell, caring friend and once husband; her stepmother, Sally Whitmore; her siblings, Robbi Matarrese (Vince), Lori Fuenning, Richard Fuenning, Jeffrey Fuenning (Crystal) and Scott Fuenning (Jennifer); plus many dear friends and extended family.
Linda loved to teach. She dedicated much of her life to helping children and teachers learn to love and love to learn. She graduated from Arcadia High School class of 1970 then received a bachelor of arts and master of arts in elementary education from Arizona State University. Linda taught elementary school in Lavine, Page, Pine Top, Chino Valley and Prescott, Ariz., before becoming the curriculum and testing coordinator for the Prescott Unified School District. She was also employed by the Bureau of Education & Research, Northern Arizona University, Prescott College and was a member of the Prescott Kiwanis. Linda loved the outdoors, bird watching and traveling to beautiful places in the Southwest and abroad. Her love for life, family and friends is cherished by many.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Linda's name to The Kiwanis Club of Prescott Community Foundation, P.O. Box 1020, Prescott, AZ 86302. Contributions will go to a scholarship for a Prescott High School graduate who attended Miller Valley Elementary School.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Unity Church of Prescott, 145 S. Arizona Ave.
