Obituary: Wayne Nugent Hopper

Wayne Nugent Hopper was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on Feb. 2, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was a Glendale, Ariz., native born on Oct. 29, 1923, to Lee and Betty Hopper.

He served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Trinity. Wayne met and married the love of his life, Ginny, in 1947. Wayne and Ginny raised their three children in Prescott where Wayne began his teaching career and retired as the principal of Taylor Hicks Elementary School in 1983.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and wife, Ginny. Wayne is survived by his daughters, Nancy Marlin (Glenn), Cindy Page (Dave); and son David (Sharon); as well as eight grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Services will be private and an Open House is planned for March 9, 2013. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of the Valley.
