Obituary: Isabel Ortiz Medina
Isabel Ortiz Medina, 58, of Bagdad, Ariz., died peacefully Feb. 2, 2013, surrounded by loved ones.
Isabel is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Juan "Larry" Medina; loving children Frances and Candie Medina, Laura Perez and son-in-law Victor Perez; cherished grandchildren Ysabel Santiago, Andrew Medina, Marisa Santiago, Lorenzo Medina, Thomas Medina and Victor "Teddy" Perez Jr.; her father David Contreras; brother Henry Ortiz; sisters Clorie Buzan and Rose Hunter. She also leaves behind many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
She was selfless with her love for her family. She is preceded in death by her mother Francis Contreras and mother-in-law Julia Medina.
Isabel was born on July 15, 1954, in Truth or Consequences, N.M. She grew up in Catalina, Ariz. She married the love of her life on Dec. 22, 1972. They moved to Bagdad, Ariz., in 1978 to raise their family. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at the Adair Funeral Home Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Oro Valley, Ariz., followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, St. Odilia's Catholic Church, 7570 N. Paseo Del Norte, Tucson, Ariz. Burial will immediately follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
