Dina L. Kurbat Mountcastle

Dina L. Kurbat Mountcastle passed away peacefully on Jan. 18, 2013, at 10:30 p.m. in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Dina was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on July 18, 1969.

Dina was a beautiful, strong and thankful person who brought joy to everyone she met. She was an Angel of God even on Earth. Dina touched so many peoples' lives so deeply with her foresight, energy, love, great humor and faith as everyday was a blessing to Dina. Her husband Paul and her beautiful daughters, Madeline and Ginger, were the light of her life.

Dina survived the 9/11 attack on New York City and volunteered during the ensuing clean-up, providing help in the many food tents that fed all the responders.

Dina made a name for herself in the theatre community in Phoenix, garnering recognition for her work on stage several times. She also began a wonderful career in comedy which carried through when she moved to New York City in 1997, where she wrote and performed in two 2-women shows, as well as performing with different comedy groups. Dina's greatest accomplishment was returning to the stage in Prescott, where she was brilliant as Ms. Hannigan in the Prescott Fine Arts' production of "Annie" in 2012.

Dina was such a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed terribly for years to come. God took Dina in his arms and gave her peace. We were blessed to have such a wonderful person in our lives and she will be with us always. WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!

Dina is survived by her husband Paul; daughters Madeline and Ginger; mother Faye; sister Kelli and Curt Smith; father Doug Kurbat; stepmom Nancy; stepbrother Brian and Katie Yarbrough; stepsister Tracey Yarbrough; and nieces and nephews Brittany, Austin, Hailee, Wesley, Elijah, Taylor, Bailey, Tatum and Nathan.

Dina's family can't begin to thank the community, church, and the many friends who have supported and contributed in many different ways to Dina and her family during this journey. Special thanks to Hospice of the Pines, the amazing caregivers at Aspen Creek Care Home in Prescott Valley, and Heritage Mortuary. May God bless and be with you ... YOU ARE ALL DINA'S ANGELS!
