Jacqueline “Jackie” Carmel Summers

Jacqueline "Jackie" Carmel Summers went to be with Jesus Saturday morning, Nov. 16, 2013. Jacqueline was born in Redondo Beach, Calif., as the only child of Milton and Carmel (Bruno) Porter on Sept. 26, 1929. Her parents preceded her in death.

Jacqueline was the former owner and president of Tulsa United Petroleum Incorporated of Holdenville, Okla. In her younger years, she was a medical assistant and legal secretary. Jackie supported many Native American causes, especially those of the Creek and Seminole nations. She was an amazing artist and used her talents to benefit nonprofit charities.

Jackie is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Tilley of Prescott, Ariz., Shelly Fitzgerald of Arcata, Calif., and Lillie Gillespie of Eufala, Okla. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Erin Conway of Prescott, Constance Fitzgerald of Petaluma, Calif., and Lafoya Gillespie and Mistee Gillespie, both of Tonkawa, Okla., as well as her great-granddaughter Lakota Choate of Tonkawa.

For the last several months of her life, Jackie resided at Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation and was wonderfully cared for by Spencer, Anna, Cheyenne and many other terrific people.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home was entrusted with Jacqueline's cremation. A memorial will take place for her in Redondo Beach, Calif.
