Hye Son "Margie" McLean

Hye Son "Margie" McLean, 75, went to heaven very peacefully Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at home with her family in Prescott, Ariz., after a long and hard-fought battle with kidney disease.

She was born Nov. 28, 1937, in Seoul, South Korea, the daughter of Kyung-Jin Kim and Kyung-Cha (Park) Kim. Siblings included five sisters and one brother. All but one has preceded her in passing.

After retiring from Electronics Assembly with Teradyne and BLH Electronics in Massachusetts, Margie became a loving and devoted full-time caregiver to her husband, Robert G. McLean, who suffered from multiple sclerosis for almost 40 years. They were married on May 18, 1964, in Korea and renewed their vows in 1973 in Hyde Park, Mass.

She resided in Hyde Park from 1964 until 1986 before retiring and moving to Prescott with her husband.

Margie loved to create beautiful things with her hands. Her passions included stained glass, crafting, knitting, crocheting and sewing.

This cherished wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother is survived by her son Kenneth W. McLean and his wife Rebecca of Jacksonville, Fla.; and her daughters Katherine H. McLean of Prescott and Susan L. Knight of Boston, Mass. She leaves behind nine loving grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren, Alexander, Nicholas, Courtney, Zachary, Taylor, Savannah and Katrina. Also missing her are two young, rambunctious great-grandsons, Gabriel and Skyler, sons of Lauren and David Hall. Her only surviving sibling is her sister, Joan Rodriguez of Houston, Texas.

Her husband Robert preceded her in death on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2003, and her beautiful granddaughter Kellie, the infant daughter of Kenneth and Rebecca McLean, was called to heaven on Sept. 17, 1984.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift may be sent in Margie's name to the Arizona Kidney Foundation or any charity of your choice.

Margie's family wishes to especially thank the staff members at DaVita Dialysis Center, AKDHC of Prescott and Good Samaritan Hospice who took wonderful and loving care of such a special lady.

A private family memorial service will be at a later date.
