Homecoming week at Mayer High School began with a heroic effort Monday, as students came to class clad as their favorite super hero.

The student body had the faculty seeing double yesterday on Twin Day, and will scare the wits out of them today on Zombie Day.

Career Night also takes place today from 6-7:30 p.m., followed by the bonfire at dark.

Tomorrow is the wearing of the Red, White and Blue to further build up the Homecoming spirit. And right after lunch, the girls will clash in the annual Powder Puff games between classes.

The week's activities culminate on Friday with the Homecoming football game night versus Mesa Prep, and the crowning of the court during halftime. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

Candidates for Homecoming royalty are, Queen: Jordan Barnes, Alexandria Baudek, and Mariah McNevins; King: Leo Basurto, Alexander Spires, and Matthew Turner.

Candidates for their court are:
