Nominations sought for 'Unsung Hero' awards

In May 2007, the office of Supervisor Chip Davis instituted the Unsung Hero Award. Since that time we have named 62 Unsung Heroes. The candidates are nominated each month by other community members or organizations. The award recognizes a person living in Yavapai County that goes out of their way to somehow make the world a better place while not expecting or seeking any thanks or praises. All award winners must be volunteers. The award is presented each month on the "Mark in the Morning" show on KVRD.

To nominate someone contact Supervisor Davis' office at 928-639-8110 or email

Each winner will receive a certificate and have an article put in the local newspapers. The award presentation is also taped live and aired on myradio
