Parkinson's seminar to discuss DBS treatment
The Prescott Parkinson's Support Group welcomes a DBS (Medtronic Deep Brain Stimulation) Therapy Update and Conference, for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, at the Adult Center of Prescott, 1280 E. Rosser St. on Sept. 28. Registration starts at noon with a complimentary lunch until 12:45 p.m.
Dr. Jennifer Bortz, neuro-psychologist, will address "Cognitive Issues with PD," followed by Dr. Francisco Ponce, DBS neurosurgeon, who will speak to "DBS - Asleep or Awake?" and Dr. Douglas Shepard, a Prescott neurologist, will speak on "DBS Management after Surgery." The meeting will conclude with a panel discussion with all. Admission is free. All persons interested in Parkinson's dare welcome.
