Free hazardous waste disposal event open to Prescott customers

The City of Prescott will conduct a free household hazardous waste collection event on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Sundog Transfer Station. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon, Sept. 29, at the transfer station at 2800 Sundog Ranch Road. Bring a recent City of Prescott utility bill as proof of residency.

Acceptable items include: antifreeze, vehicle batteries, rechargeable batteries, regular batteries, electronics, household appliances, fire extinguishers, propane cylinders (one- or five-pound), pesticides, pool chemicals, paint and paint thinner, tires (up to five), used oil, Freon, fluorescents, and smoke detectors. The event will not accept asbestos, explosives and medications.

The transfer station will continue regular waste disposal operations during business hours. More information is available by calling 777-1116.
