Dorothy worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company since 1956, mostly in the Prescott and Chino Valley area until she retired in June of 1981. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Dorothy Mae Brown was a rare and precious jewel, the like of which is seldom encountered in this world. She was a beautiful, modest, intelligent and gentle woman. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. Often, she was the friend of the friendless and the helper of those who had no help. Her language was the law of kindness and understanding, her nature both gracious and generous.

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. (Proverbs 31:10, 28-29)

A graveside service was Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at the Chino Valley Cemetery, 864 State Highway 89, Chino Valley, AZ 86323.
