Program on military drones tonight at ERAU

Stephen Rayleigh, formerly an unmanned aerial systems operator for the U.S. Army in Iraq, will present a history of military drones spanning the last 100 years at 7 p.m. tonight at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, 3700 Willow Creek Road, in the DLC Auditorium.

Hear the riveting stories of the Sperry Aerial Torpedo Project consulted by Orville Wright in 1918, the German cruise missile program, the American remote-controlled bombers during WWII, the Firebee recon drone used in Vietnam, Israel's highly successful UAV program, and finally the coming of age of UAVs in Operation Desert Storm.

His program, A (Declassified) History of Military Drones, is free and open to the public. For more information, call 777-6985.
