Big Brothers Big Sisters annual bash is Nov. 10
Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters 31st annual Grand Gala Dinner and Auction will take place on Saturday, Nov. 10, at The Prescott Resort. The annual Gala is the final event fundraiser for YBBBS this calendar year.
The Gala will reflect a New Orleans Jazz theme, with Mike Vax and his orchestra performing throughout the evening. Vax, director of the Prescott Jazz Summit, has been performing for more than 50 years.
The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with a cocktail reception featuring wine tastings provided by several local wineries. During the reception, guests will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of silent auction items and purchase raffle tickets for a vacation in Cabo San Lucas.
The 350 guests in attendance will enjoy a New Orleans-inspired gourmet menu prepared by Prescott Resort Chef Jeff Adams, using local produce from Whipstone Farms, local fish from Rainbow Trout Farms, and local beef from Orme Ranch. After dinner, bidders may raise their paddles as the bidding begins for the live auction, followed by the announcement of the raffle winner.
It has been shown that matched youth are 46 percent less likely to do drugs. "Littles" have also been shown to have stronger relationships with their parents and others.
Reservations can be made by visiting www.azbigs.org or calling YBBBS at 778-5135.
Supporting Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters can reduce state taxes dollar-for-dollar while helping local children through contributions of $200 for an individual and $400 for a couple.
