Halloween Dance brings out real cast of characters
The hall was full and quite a few costumed characters danced to the music of Jim Porter during the Cordes Lakes Halloween Dance Saturday. But when the lights went up, it was contest time!
Entrants were divided into several categories, with winners as follows: Scariest was won by Steve Chadwell as the Green Hornet and Pam Chadwell as a witch, green face and all. The Funniest category was taken by Ron Davis as a 1920s zoot suiter and Judy Slankard in her clown outfit.
The Most Creative went to Ina Tomey as Spiderwoman, including one painted on her face, and Mary Sepalla in Gay '90s dress.
The Prettiest Woman went to Pam Davis and the Best Matched Couple was won by Pam and Roger Davis.
Bill Slankard was outstanding with his top hat and T-shirt stating "I Don't Do Costumes."
Emcee Lee Digges kept the judging going with great response from the attendees.
Lucy Corder managed to get the groups together, point to each contestant, and tried to determine which one got the loudest applause.
Then the evening went back to dancing, along with several costumes and parts of costumes coming off.
It was a great and cheerful crowd out for a night of fun, and that's just what they got.
