Obituary: Maryann Veltri

Maryann Veltri, 64, passed away on Sept. 30, 2012, in Phoenix, Ariz. She was born in Queens, N.Y. and lived most of her life on Long Island before relocating to Prescott, Ariz., in 2002.

Maryann graduated from St. John's University and Long Island University with degrees in medical technology and worked as a medical technologist and blood bank supervisor at Winthrop University Hospital in New York and Northern Arizona VA Healthcare Center in Prescott.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; sons, Lance from Long Beach, N.Y. and Brian (Shannon); grandsons, Braeden and Callen from Pleasant Hill, Calif.; brothers, Jack (Donna) Trommer from Tampa, Fla. and Robert (Claudia) Trommer from El Dorado Hills, Calif.; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents John (Mary) Trommer.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez St. in Prescott, with a Scripture Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury St., Prescott. Inurnment will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at All Souls Cemetery, 700 N. Bill Gray Road, Cottonwood, Ariz.

The family suggests contributions be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 120 N Summit Ave., Prescott, AZ 86301.
