Obituary: Helen Kosowski-Wiant
Helen Kosowski-Wiant, age 81, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Hospice Family Care in Prescott, Ariz. She was born on Feb. 1, 1931, in Indianapolis, Ind. to Henry and Sophia Wollenweber and had five older brothers.
Helen lived in Chicago, Ill. the major part of her life and loved that city and the suburb of Park Ridge. Helen relocated to Prescott in 1995, and also enjoyed living here. Helen was outgoing and made many friends and was active in many organizations in Chicago and in Prescott, including in Prescott: Soroptimist International of Prescott; Women in Networking; a volunteer and member of Prescott Fine Arts Association; and since 1995, a member of Republican Women of Prescott. In June of 1996 to the summer of 1997, Helen founded, published and edited a magazine named "TODAY in Prescott" which became very popular throughout Prescott and major cities in Arizona. She was a contributor to several cultural and humanitarian organizations in Chicago and in Prescott.
She is survived by her husband, George; her daughter, Caryn Kosowski; son, Stephen Kosowski; and son, Edward Kosowski.
A private family service will be at a later date. The family suggests that donations in Helen's name be made to Hospice Family Care of Prescott or a charity of your choice.
