Winning writers to read their works on Nov. 28
Some of the winners of the 2012 writing contest sponsored by the Professional Writers of Prescott (PWP) will read their winning entries beginning at 6 p.m. on Nov. 28 in the Founders Suite at the Prescott Public Library, 215 E Goodwin St. The public is invited to attend.
Winners of the contest include Poetry 1st place: Nornie Isley - "Poet's Song" / "On Being Sixty-One"; Poetry 2nd Place: Sally Clark - "She Leaves Us A Little At A time" and others in the collective entry; Poetry 3rd Place: David Byrn - "Salado Fragment"; Fiction 1st Place: Kathleen Ewing - "Searching for Sara"; Fiction 2nd Place: Gretchen Phelps - "Fog in a Trunk"; Fiction 3rd Place: Jessica Roth - "Rock and Snow and Sky"; Non-Fiction 1st Place: Russ Miller - "Wounded Wit"; Non-Fiction 2nd Place: Rose Marie Kern - "The Oldest Daughter"; Non-Fiction 3rd Place: Gretchen Phelps - "Wild Dogs".
All readers have been invited to read; the number of readers is subject to change and their presence at this meeting cannot be guaranteed.
Professional Writers of Prescott meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m., and informal networking starts at 6 p.m.
