Six Bradshaw Mountain High School seniors take third place in DECA Fall Leadership conference

The Bradshaw Mountain High School DECA student organization participated in the Arizona DECA Fall Leadership Conference at the U.S. Airway Arena on Oct. 31, where more than 2,500 Arizona high school students from more than 80 DECA programs gathered to test their skills.

This year's DECA theme of "Breakthrough" took students through a multimedia adventure of all the events, activities, and opportunities available to them during the school year. The conference featured five individualized leadership tracks specifically designed to meet the needs of all DECA members from rookie freshman to experienced juniors and veteran seniors.

Each workshop engaged students in leadership, team building, and communication, said Mark Campbell, DECA advisor. Six seniors attended the conference: Corey Griffin, Mira Richey, Cruz McCullough, Josiah Cilano, Calendar Castillo and Vincent Tam.

"I am pleased to report that they took third place in this year's senior challenge out of more than 600 seniors from 42 different high schools around the state of Arizona," Campbell said.

BMHS will participate in the Central Region Competition in January.
