ERAU honor guard to help replace flag at local cemetery

Embry-Riddle Prescott Air Force ROTC Honor Guard will be assisting former Embry-Riddle student Kaitlyn Lentz and Mayor Marlin Kuykendall in replacing a tattered American flag just inside the Rolling Hills Cemetery near Guidance Aviation at 10 a.m. Saturday. The community is invited to join them to pay tribute to these heroes and to support the Honor Guard as they replace the flag. Dr. Richard Bloom, representing ERAU, will offer a wreath on behalf of the entire ERAU community.

The abandoned Rolling Hills Cemetery on Ruger Road is the final resting place of six WWI veterans and a single WWII veteran. A memorial was built in their honor and adorned with a flag. The memorial honors these seven American heroes and is in dire need of attention.

This is a free community event and guests are asked to attend in conservative attire and are welcome to bring floral arrangements to be placed at the memorial.

If you would like more information regarding this event or have any questions, contact Kaitlyn Lentz via email atLentz623@gmail.com or by phone at 440-666-0457.
