Lifetree Café to address PTSD

"Wounded Warriors: When War Comes Home" will be the subject for the next Lifetree Café at Prescott United Methodist Church on Sunday. Lifetree Café is a new outreach program that meets each Sunday evening at 6 p.m. in the Douglas Room of the church at 505 W. Gurley.

This session will explore post-traumatic stress disorder in the lives of military veterans and provide helpful resources and strategies for coping with PTSD. The program will include a film featuring a veteran who witnessed the death of a good friend in combat. His return to civilian life was disrupted by lingering mental distress, violent tendencies and relationship problems, but he eventually found hope and stability.

Community members are welcome to attend this free one-hour event. Snacks and beverages will be available. Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting. Questions about Lifetree may be directed to Beth Cottle at 778-1950 or eacottle@hotmail.com.
