Tim's Auto Group has joined forces with the Prescott Educational Foundation to create an endowment to provide funds for Prescott Unified School District facility needs, academic scholarships to Prescott High School graduating seniors, and pay-to-play scholarships for PUSD students in need.

"As a locally owned business, we take great pride in our community and our local schools," said Ali Hussain, general manager of Tim's Auto Group. "This program will provide a new funding source for schools to use for enhancing campus facilities and rewarding high achieving and dedicated students."

"Tim's Auto Group has been working with the Prescott High School Baseball Boosters, and wanted to do more to help students from kindergarten through 12th grade throughout the district, and we appreciate it," said Renee Raskin, chief financial officer for PUSD.

The Tim's Auto Group Educational Endowment Program will kick off with a "November to Remember" promotion, in which Tim's Auto Group will contribute $100 into the endowment fund for every new or used car sold at any of their dealerships.

The program will continue in December and throughout 2013 with Tim's Auto Group contributing $100 from the sale of new or used Toyotas, Buicks, GMCs, Hyundais, Scions or Subarus to the fund when customers mention the endowment program, Hussain said, adding that individuals and businesses are also encouraged to make a tax-deductible donation to the endowment fund.

The company is working with the Prescott Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit initially created in 1995 as a way for businesses and individuals to help pay for coaches' salaries after they were cut from the budget, Raskin said.

Over time, the foundation developed into a source of scholarships for PUSD students funded by memorials, and has become the group that people and businesses looking to donate to the district work with, Raskin said.

Brochures about the endowment are available at all Tim's Auto Group dealerships or at the Prescott High School bookstore, main office or guidance office.
