3-vehicle collision on Highway 69 sends 2 to hospital

PRESCOTT - A three-vehicle crash on Highway 69 resulted in two drivers being taken to the hospital Wednesday morning, according to a Prescott Fire Department spokesman.

About 10:37 a.m., a Dodge Dakota headed east on Highway 69 struck a southbound Yavapai Casino shuttle bus at the Heather Heights intersection, said Firefighter Conrad Jackson.

The bus was turned completely around, Jackson said, and the Dakota rolled backwards and hit a van in the turn lane.

The Dakota's driver, a 58-year-old woman, was taken to YRMC with head and neck pain and minor lacerations, Jackson said. The driver of the shuttle bus, a 73-year-old man, also went to YRMC for evaluation, and the van's driver refused treatment, he added.

There were no passengers on board the shuttle when it was hit, he said.
