April 14 Pedals & Pumps event will honor community leaders

Prescott Alternative Transportation (PAT) is kicking off Bike Month 2012 next month with its Pedals and Pumps Gala.

The event will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the Adult Center of Prescott at 1280B E. Rosser St.

Along with auctions, live music and dinner, the event also will include the presentation of the third annual CYCLE (Central Yavapai Community Leadership Excellence) Awards, which honor community members who are dedicated to a higher quality of life for central Yavapai County, according to a news release from PAT.

"It's a fun and easy way to support your local community leaders, volunteers, and bicycle and pedestrian advocates," said Kristen Menger, an AmeriCorps VISTA member serving with PAT, referring to the event. "We hope to see you there."

More information about the event and tickets, which are $60 each, is available online at www.prescottbikeped.org/events, or by calling PAT at 928-708-0911. Ticket purchase forms are also available at the Prescott Alternative Transportation office at 309 E. Gurley St.
