GOLF TIP: Test your grip pressure while holding the club

There is no question that Fundamental #1 in golf is the grip! After you have developed a good grip (how to hold the golf club), you may ask, "How tight should I hold the club?"Here's a little test to answer that question. On a scale of 1-10 - with 1 being very light grip pressure and 10 being "squeezing" the club as tight as you can - what do you think the correct grip pressure should be? The answer is 4 or 5. Hold the club just tight enough so that it doesn't turn in your hands as you swing, but not so tight that it causes tension in your forearms. Most people hold the club too tight, which does not allow the club to swing freely.
